Avum is seeking a Project Manager and Analyst to support Government customers and the Avum development team. This position will be a central point of contact (POC) for customer interactions, including status updates, arranging presentations/demos, scheduling meetings, and directing inquiries to the appropriate team member. The individual will need to be a functional analyst of the customer's business systems, learning new applications and related business processes to document/communicate the system gaps with customer requirements. The individual will need to guide the development team regarding user interface design and system functionality from the customer's point of view. The individual will need to address customer questions related to the systems/applications, research open requests, and reach out to external contacts for answers. This role requires the individual to coordinate with external system POCs to set up interfaces and resolve issues. The individual will need to coordinate with the customer to receive product releases and manage change control board (CCB) procedures.
The applicant will manage the product backlog and development assignments and translate customer requirements into actionable tasks for the development team. They will perform the role of Project Manager for daily stand-ups and other Scrum events, updating tasks and removing impediments for the team. The individual will also participate in customer Scrum events to provide status from the development team's progress and bring feedback/requests to the appropriate team member.
This role requires generating internal and customer-requested documentation, including user guides, system requirements/details, white papers, business process descriptions, and support all other general writing activities.
The individual will coordinate with the user community, which includes onboarding new users into applications, setting up user accounts, providing instruction, troubleshooting login issues, escalating connection problems, and managing the user help desk requests. This role also requires the ability to manage, document, and participate in user events, including training, testing/evaluation sessions, user acceptance testing, and product review sessions.
A plus is if the individual is experienced in Agile Scrum and DevSecOps methodologies, leading engineering teams in development iterations (Sprints) involving daily meetings (Scrums), a prioritized task backlog, and government stakeholders review sessions.
This position requires previous experience as a Project Manager or Analyst, and the candidate must be able to perform self-learning with moderate guidance from senior-level company leaders.
Solid organization while multitasking and supporting deadline-sensitive requirements; highly effective written and verbal communication; professional interaction with colleagues at every corporate level, team members, and representatives of external organizations; and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required. Must be able to work with engineering and analyst teams, along with the ability to coordinate with government stakeholders.
Possessing technical capability and aptitude is also a necessity, as in the Analyst role it will be required to assist in application and system testing and QA efforts: validating production features and functionality against requirement documents and functional specifications. This role involves aspects of QA planning and execution, including, but not limited to requirements gathering, preparing documentation, and creating test plans, and test cases for all phases of testing.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to pass a T3 background investigation.
NOTE: This fully remote role requires the candidate to participate in meetings virtually using tools like Microsoft Teams. Online availability during the core hours of 9 AM PST/PDT to 4 PM PST/PDT, Monday through Friday, will be required. Availability to support EST core hours as needed

- Execute functional test cases/steps on new application features, perform bug/defect validation, confirm that existing functionality and usability have not been negatively altered, and update documentation accordingly
- Write test plans from the requirements, specifications and test strategies
- Generate internal and customer-requested documentation, including user guides, system requirements/details, white papers, business process descriptions, and support other general writing activities.
- Coordinate with the user community, which includes onboarding new users into applications, setting up user accounts, providing instruction, troubleshooting login issues, escalating connection problems, and managing the user help desk requests.
- Manage, document, and participate in user events, including training, testing/evaluation sessions, user acceptance testing, and product review sessions.
- Manage timesheets for the project team and create monthly status reports for the customer.
- Support the purchasing/renewal of contract-related products/services and organize funding allocations across multiple contracts.
- Pursue business opportunities with federal, state, local, and commercial entities.
- Manage and support the creation of proposals and solicitation responses for new contracts, including coordination with internal team members and external business partners.
- Design graphics and charts for PowerPoint presentations and documentation.
- Perform e-Verify assessments for new employees.
- Maintain company access forms, capability statements, team member resumes, and past performance write-ups.
Place of Performance
The candidate will be required to interact and coordinate with external project team members and other Avum employees remotely. As a remote employee, the candidate will not have a permanent office or desk space but may be required to attend in-person meetings. This may require travel to government sites located in Washington, D.C., and the Avum office located in Agoura Hills, California. Our priority is acquiring the most qualified candidate to satisfactorily perform the required tasks, including team collaboration, regardless of the candidate’s geographical location.
Educational/Work Experience
Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a curriculum or major field of study which provides substantial knowledge useful in system development and is closely related to the work detailed above, or in a computer science, information systems, physical science, engineering or mathematics–intensive discipline, or an applicable training certificate from an accredited training institution.
Salary
Starting salaries for this position range from $78,400 - $114,000 and are commensurate with experience. The position is full-time, salaried, with benefits.
